Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice, artist Mika Tajima s Emotion Commune series is an extension of Tajima s Art d Ameublement series of paintings. The Emotion Commune print series investigates the emotional responses to affective industrial color and color naming. These works are created with a combination of silkscreen and blind impression letterpress print on paper, tapping into increasingly prevent idea of collective emotion within city, country or other area of contemporary society. The works draw on how we live in the world through media and technology, and while we may be separated physically, we still convene or connect in new ways intangible ways.  The English original statement plays on the word commune as both a verb and noun, but in translating into other languages the idea is approximated, and the meaning slightly changes taking on new nuances from other interpretations. Commune as a verb means to converse or talk together, usually with profound intensity, intimacy. As a noun, it is a group of people living together and sharing possessions and responsibilities, the operative word connecting both meanings is sharing . 

Made with color changing inks. Text reacts to heat; background is UV sensitive: transforming into new color combinations. 

Care instructions: Machine wash in gentle cycle, and dry in low heat. For longer lasting quality recommended to hand wash and air dry.
